Is it wrong of me that I kind of hope a meteor hits a certain courthouse in southern California tomorrow, and we never, ever have to hear about the Michael Jackson thing ever again?
And I really liked it. Ended nicely. I'm sure only a small portion of the already small number of readers will know what I'm talking about, but hey - it worked for me.
...and hence don't post very often. Ok, it's not all work - it's a combination of work, DVDs (season 5 of Angel and season 1 of Deadwood - great show, btw), reading (Sean McMullen's Calculor books - "Souls in the Great Machine", "The Miocene Arrow", and "Eyes of the Calculor" - fun, geeky waaaaaay post-apocalyptic sci-fi with all kinds of strange traditions, like a ban on steam engines, that are descended from attempts to end pollution and move to renewable energy sources - but the reasons got distorted over the centuries by a combination of world war and a strange effect, the Call, which sweeps across landmasses in waves, pulling all mammals larger than small dogs with it to the sea...oy, great stuff, but awfully difficult to summarize), and playing World of Warcraft waaaaaay too much. But don't worry - I'm leaving the apartment this weekend, albeit for a sci-fi convention in SF.
